Bird Care

Basic Volunteer Duties:

• Cleaning cages, aviaries, mews, and flight rooms
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Preparing food of various types
• Feeding birds (if trained and qualified)
• Washing dishes and bird perches
• Cleaning carriers
• Washing, moving, folding and putting away laundry

Required Training:

• Volunteer Orientation and Interview
  
• Feeding and handling of birds is species specific
  
• Training will be ongoing as various species of birds arrive at the rescue
• Volunteers will be under the supervision of a permitted rehabilitator at all times
