Bird Care
Basic Volunteer Duties:
Cleaning cages, aviaries, mews, and flight rooms
Sweeping and mopping floors
Preparing food of various types
Feeding birds (if trained and qualified)
Washing dishes and bird perches
Cleaning carriers
Washing, moving, folding and putting away laundry
Required Training:
Volunteer Orientation and Interview
Feeding and handling of birds is species specific
Training will be ongoing as various species of birds arrive at the rescue
Volunteers will be under the supervision of a permitted rehabilitator at all times
